PostSubject: Ubisoft Apologizes... FREEBIES!   Thu Nov 27, 2014 12:20 pm

Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat apologized for the issues and is offering free DLC to all owners of the game.

"I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team," Mallat said. "These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."

He continued, "To show our appreciation for your continued support, we’re making the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC free for everyone. For Season Pass holders, we will also offer the choice of one additional game from a selection of Ubisoft titles for free."

The eligible games are listed below. If you purchased Assassin's Creed Unity Gold Edition, which includes the season pass, you're entitled to a free game as well. Ubisoft is still in the process of setting up a system to process this offer, and will share an update soon.

The Crew
Far Cry 4
Watch Dogs
Assassin's Creed Black Flag
Rayman Legends
Just Dance 2015
Note: The season pass is no longer for sale.

Once the Dead Kings DLC is available, you'll be able to find it through an in-game link. No release date is announced for it yet, but Ubisoft says it's "coming soon."

Patch 3 for Assassin's Creed Unity is rolling out this week, with over 300 fixes for stability, gameplay, progression and more. Ubisoft has said that "While you might notice some improvements to framerate as a result of Patch 3, we still have a future patch planned to further address framerate concerns."

Yeah kudos to them for this but also Boo Hiss on them releasing a broken, unfinished game.
300 fixes in one patch? How broken is this?

I played it quite a bit and CommanderSkimpy has too.... Neither of us has seen these game breaking problems, so we're a bit confused by the things folk are saying about it.

There have been some frame rate dips but nothing that stops an enjoyable experience.

On the other hand, it seems to be a given nowadays that companies release unfinished product and seeing as the majority of gamers keep on buying the stuff, the companies will continue to churn out unfinished games. I'd rather they waited and released a thoroughly tested game. But then, what would everyone have to moan about? lol

I've heard that the XB1 version as the least problems whereas the PS4 and PC versions have plenty of issues.

As for unfinished releases I won't be pre-ordering anything or even buying anything until I've seen the reviews. With only a very few exceptions (ie Naughty Dog) I simply don't trust these companies especially on the next gen.

Games are going 'Gold' unfinished and day one patches are trying to fix the most obvious flaws.
Digital Foundry did a piece on The Evil Within comparing it with and without the day one patch and apparently without the patch it's a real mess.

Massive Kudos to Ubisoft and can't wait to get my free game, lol.

A lot of developers are struggling this generation with bugs and server issues, still very early days in this generation and with the "cloud" playing a big part think, unfortunately, think there will be quite a few games with bugs and server issues till its sorted, and as been said this mentality publishers have of rushing things out because you can release a patch doesn't look like will change anytime soon, gone are the days publishers had to make sure the game was 100% bug free or damn close because once it's out its out, nowadays with Internet and patches seems they don't mind.

I've hardly played it too see about glitches, I was climbing a building the other day in mid air but don't mind them but these are some of the glitches people have had and I've heard some people say their game was just broke to the Lou t they couldn't play it.
