Rumor: Gears of War Collection to be Shown at E3 2015, Will be 1080/60FPS
Rumors are perhaps my third least favorite things on this planet, the first being small hands and the second being One Direction. Why do they even exist?
That being said, I can more or less avoid my top pet peeves, but every now and again rumors must enter my life, sometimes for the greater good, other timesÖ Well, not so much.
The rumor of the day surround the highly anticipated, yet completely unannounced Gears of War collection for the Xbox One. Itís been on the tips of tongues for months and die-hard Xbox fans have been running around, wild eyed and frizzy haired, usually screaming ďitís real man, itís real. You donít know nothiní!Ē
Earlier today one cheeky chap managed to coax a response from Xboxís top boss Phil Spencer by asking when the collection will be coming. While Spencer didnít confirm or deny it, he did give a tiny teaser that peaked the interest of just about everyone and their Gears of War loving mothers. He said ďhaha, I canít announce that. But stay tuned.Ē
Itís far from confirmation, but itís a nudge in the right direction none-the-less.
Then we have the ďinsider report.Ē
This one is a little more out there, so out there that the aforementioned wild-eyed fans would stop and slap you in face for speaking it out loud.
According to X-Rays, the Gears of War Collection will be shown off at E3 later this year with some gameplay footage and that itíll run at the fabled 1080p/60fps and will release this year. Sounds like the wildest dreams of every Gears of War fan, right?
Well go to the cupboard and get some salt ready, because this is far from confirmed and we canít rightly report this as fact until something a little more solid comes along.
However, according the X-Rays, Black Tusk isnít working on the re-master, but itís instead being developed by another developer. Another round of salt?
This one actually seems to be quite logical. Black Tusk are currently working on the next big Gears of War game, so itíd be a bit of a stretch of their resources to be crafting a brand new game natively for the Xbox One as well as re-master the older Xbox 360 games for next-gen console.
Before you go running naked in the streets declaring that you knew it was real, please, keep your expectations in check. Nothing hurts more than something that turns out to be a dud, so take this as you will and wait until E3 2015. Fingers and toes crossed, lads.

When I first picked up my xbox one, I was against all the remakes and remasters etc.... but now that I've not played GOW in any way for well over a year.... I REALLY want a remake. Especially of number 3.
I'm quietly excited about this rumour....!
